About Esther

For more than twenty years, my work has lived at the intersection of therapy, training, and human development. I support individuals, professionals, and organizations in processes of healing, awareness, and sustainable growth.

Again and again, I am reminded of the quiet resilience people carry — even when life has brought stress, loss, or overwhelming experiences. My work is grounded in a simple yet essential understanding: meaningful change can only emerge when people feel safe, seen, and respected.

A trauma-sensitive perspective therefore forms the foundation of everything I do.

Background

Before dedicating myself fully to therapeutic and educational work, I spent over a decade as an executive within a global organization. During those years, I witnessed how stress, pressure, and unresolved experiences shape both individual wellbeing and organizational culture — often subtly, yet profoundly.

This chapter of my career continues to inform my practice. It allows me to bridge psychological insight with a deep understanding of leadership, systems, and workplace dynamics.

My work naturally moves between personal processes and broader relational or organizational contexts.

A Trauma-Sensitive Approach

Trauma sensitivity is not a technique, but a way of relating.

Across therapy, training, and consultancy, my work centers on:

  • fostering psychological and emotional safety
  • respecting individual boundaries and pace
  • supporting nervous system regulation
  • strengthening resilience and self-awareness
  • restoring connection — with oneself and with others

This approach creates space for learning, integration, and lasting transformation.

Trauma-Sensitive Yoga

Alongside my therapeutic and training work, I serve as a mentor and trainer within a scientifically grounded Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) model.

Trauma-Sensitive Yoga offers a gentle, experiential pathway toward regulation, embodiment, and the restoration of personal agency. It integrates contemporary neurobiological understanding with carefully attuned, choice-based movement and awareness practices.

This work supports both individuals and professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of the body’s role in healing and self-regulation.

International Perspective

My professional path has been shaped by international experience, including my time in Australia, where I taught and worked within diverse learning and development environments.

These experiences broadened my perspective and deepened my sensitivity to cultural context, human diversity, and the universal need for safety, dignity, and connection.

Author

I am the author of the Dutch book Trauma-Sensitive Society, which explores how trauma sensitivity extends beyond therapy into education, organizations, and societal structures.

The book is currently being translated into English to support a wider international audience.

My Work Today

Today, I work with individuals, professionals, and organizations through therapy, training, and consultancy. Whether the focus is personal healing, leadership, team dynamics, or organizational culture, my intention remains the same: to create environments in which people feel safe enough to learn, adapt, and grow. Because sustainable change does not arise from pressure, but from safety, awareness, and connection.
